Latex foam is lighter and more breathable than memory foam, which means better airflow for cooler sleep. A latex mattress won’t hug your body as snugly as memory foam, but it will contour enough for pressure relief. Furthermore, a latex mattress is bouncier than memory foam, behaving more like an innerspring mattress. An added bonus of latex is its natural durability, allowing warranties of up to 15 years!
Latex foam is produced in two common forms: Dunlop and Talalay. Dunlop latex is poured to the top of the mold, then settles naturally and sets. The result is a foam that is denser at the bottom than the top. Talalay latex, on the other hand, is poured only partially into the mold, then pumped with air. The result of this process is a foam of consistent density that is lighter overall than Dunlop latex.
City Mattress offers latex mattresses from popular brands including Aireloom, Kluft, and PranaSleep and in every size from twin to king (including California king). In addition, you’ll find latex mattresses made entirely of foam as well as hybrid options, which combine latex foam with innerspring support. All of our latex mattresses are adjustable friendly, so you can use them with an adjustable bed base. Talk to our personal Sleep Concierge to find the right latex mattress for you, and remember that City Mattress offers White Glove local delivery and setup with every mattress we sell!
